Varsity Basketball Duran, Juan — Photography 232 Faculty Fine arts dept, continues with variety of courses he fine arts department, under the direction of chairperson Susan Thornberry, again broke through offering to students a wide range of classes and activities to choose from. Some of the classes that were offered to students were ceramics, where students learned to make and transform different objects out of clay; art, here students learned how to use their artistic ability through colors and sketches: band, where students learned the fundamentals of playing a musical instrument; choir, students here learned how to develop their voice through the pattern of song; and drama, where students learned the fundamentals of acting by performing in school plays. Each year, awards are given out in fine arts to the most deserving seniors. Among them are the Bank of America Award for Art, the Bank of America Award for Music, the Bank of America Award for Drama, the outstanding drama student award, and other awards related to the fine arts department. In all, the fine arts department continued to rank high among students as one of the most popular departments on campus. Home economics helping to prepare hairperson Sue Pendleton and her Home Economics Department broke through with a wide variety of courses to offer the students. Such courses as Basic and Beginning Foods. Beginning and Advanced Sewing, On Your Own, and Interior Design were available for the students. Awards were given for Interior Design and Clothing to those students who participated. 1. Kiyomi Emi wrapping up Mr. Armstrong. 2 Is that Mr. McReynolds under all that gook? 3. Mr. Teague ready to show the class what he looks like in his Mickey Mouse ears.
