4 r --Wrrgm 21C C.H.S. pep squad igh School would not be High school without cheerleaders. This year's Pep Squad began working in the summer of '81 with their attendance to Hibbards All-American camp. There, the Pep Squad did extremely well. Varsity Song took three 1 st places and two 2nd places. Varsity Yell took one 1st and one 2nd. Cerritos High built a reputation of skill, ability, and unique coordination during past competitions. They placed as follows: at Arroyo, Huntington Beach, and Paramount competitions consecutively: Song — 2nd, 4th, 5th; Varsity Yell — 1st. 1st, 5th; J.V. Yell — 3rd, 5th, 3rd. The pep squad also sponsored their own championship competition. Throughout the year, the girls had other goals in mind besides competition; such as: Kidnapping, baking cakes for the teams, and cheering at the games. Pep rallies were also organized during the year for the teams. With the help of Advisor Mr. Armstrong, the CHS Pep Squad broke through with one of the most accomplishing years. 1. J.V. Edna Shin and Vivian Kim being snobby during their performance.
