pplying for college, scholarships, passing civics, ordering announcements. taking senior portraits, the prom, senior day, awards night, graduation, and finally grad-nite were all major aspects of becoming a senior in 1982. It was at times confusing, frustrating, and expensive, and there were times where most felt that these days would never become memories; but, finally these days can be looked back upon with everyone agreeing that it was indeed worth it. For some, these were the last four years of formal education. Others continued on to college majoring in a specific field and further preparing themselves for the years to come. Still others faced an even greater challenge — moving out and surviving! All deserve recognition for their courage and drive to better themselves. As the color on this page finally comes completely through, the pictures, the articles, and the memories on the following pages will remind you that 1982 was surely a year of BREAKING THROUGH.

a Hotel combined with the uniquity of CHS's first dinner-prom made it a memorable evening for everyone who attended. 7 ach year new faces and new personalities walk the same campus as did thousands before them. Each step, however, will always be different from the other. From when freshmen first converge at a pep rally to when they make their final departure at graduation, CHS itself will have gone through many changes. The graduates though, can be assured that they will always be taking with them a collection of priceless memories along with an education well earned. At times some forgot the sole purpose for bringing us all together. Nonetheless, report cards always posed as little reminders that kept that purpose fresh in one's mind. The academic program at CHS was one of the best. The increased number of CP and AP courses proved that Cerritos was on its way in being an academic leader. Education is the best thing that anyone can ever gain simply because it can never be taken away.
