Ernie Sanchez ▲ Young Dons finish 5th --------- ith a victory over Brethren, the W Varsity Tennis Dons began their season in February. The young Don team, (1 freshman, 3 sophomores, and 2 juniors) then ------- J lost three matches; while pulling ---------1 out a victory against La Mirada. In league play the Don netters played aggressively but lacked the killer instinct that comes with a more mature team. Their inconsistent play was also attributed to their youthful makeup. The final 5 wins and 9 losses in league was good enough to find the Dons in 5th place. There is reason to be enthusiastic in anticipating the start of next years season — all but one member will be a returning Varsity letterman. Throughout the year, James Kim, Ernie Sanchez and Chad Peterson were outstanding and contributed immeasurably to the team. 1. Mark Wong swings the racquet against his opponent. 2. Mike Coil says.
