he Cerritos Varsity Golf Team was a very inexperienced team. With the loss of many seniors last season, the golf team had many new players this season. But all in all, they had a respectable season. With Most Valuable player Greg Sato and the rest of the team, everyone had a blast learning and experiencing the fundamentals of golf. 1. The 1982 Varsity Golf Team. 2. Softball comes in 4th he Varsity Softball Team began its best season in Cerritos history winning 8 of their first 10 games. Hard luck fell on the team, but some excellent individual efforts were accomplished. Allleague honors went to Wendy Overleese, who batted. 388 and was voted M.V.P.. and center-fielder Teri Johnson. Captain Michelle Chee was the team's Most Inspirational player. She will be greatly missed along with graduating seniors Karen Sample and Fran Bakkers. The school homerun record was broken by Most Improved player Sandy Zetzman who hit 6 on the season and drove in 23 RBI's. Wendy. Sandy, and Teri were also honored on the all area team.
