T E A M 1980-81 Drill Team had their best year ever! They traveled to various cities in Los Angeles and parts of Orange County competing in parades and halftime shows. Under the direction of Ms. Kornder and Liz Hoffman, the drill team survived hours of strenuous exercises, and unending hours of practice. With organized teamwork and determination, they won nearly every tournament they competed against. Some of the many awards they have won include; 1st place at the West Covina halftime competition, 2nd at the Savannah halftime competition, 1st places at both the La Palma and Artesia Parades, and the prestigest Sweepstakes Award was given in a halftime competition at Cal Poly. It was a job Very well done! t. The drill team shows who's Number One with pride am spirit. 2. One of the newest clubs to form here on campus was the Chef's Club where students learned how to make and prepare delicious meals. This year the Chef's Club worked busily at the Cerritos Hilton providing fast foods to teachers as well as the students here at CHS. Mr. Wheeler developed this club and did a fine job. The 1980-81 year was an active year for the T.V. Production team, producing and informing students on news and activities in the process of broadcasting. Some of the events they focused on were Spirit Week, homecoming events, dances and club activities. T.V.
