CHRISTMAS DANCE The season was winter, the cool breezy air, the pure fresh snow and Christmas. The time when all people become closer with their families. Mothers and Fathers, all out at the stores, deciding and being choosey on what to get whom for such a special day. There is so much more that goes on at this time of the year. There is also another evening which is spent by those who enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. Each and every year Cerritos High School has one of these nights, where all the students of the school dress in their semi-formal wear and with their date, go out to a fancy restaurant, eat and then head on to the hall where the traditional dance takes place. 1980 Christmas Dance, which was put on by the Pep Squad and Drill Team was held on the night of December 22, 1980 from 8:30 to 11:30 P.M., at the delightful Dance hall of the La Mirada Country Club. While students sat chatting with their dates and friends, others danced on the floor to the music by John and Sonnie Soto: DJ's. As each and every year the annual Snow Queen and King were announced. Throughout the evening package pictures were taken by Sanford Studios. Even though the evening had to come to an end, all students who attended will carry with them always, and remember the moments they shared with their friends. 1. Masquerade Ball Masquerade Ball, theme for the 1980 Homecoming dance. Homecoming is a tradition as is the dance. This year it was a costume Party because the game was held on Halloween, the night before. Many showed their spirit by dressing in costumes. Events held were Apple bobbing, witches brew, long sandwiches, and carnations were also sold. That brought Homecoming '80 to an end. 1.
