FROSH BASEBALL The 1980-81 Freshman Baseball team having a very well played season. With the M.V.P.S. Jimmy Osborn, Jeff Emerson, and help from Coach Wayne Manzo, the boys came out in the end of the season with the record of 5-4, which place our Cerritos boys in 3rd place. 1. Eric throwing strikes. 2. Joe Welker going for a ground ball. 3. Cliff Humphris trying to get him out of first. 4. Should I go??” says Tony. 5. What he doing? 6. WE GAVE IT OUR BEST HIT 1. Greg Warner trying for base hit. 2.1981 Junior Varsity Team 3. Give us a bear. 4. Johnny going for a homerun. 5. Wayne Walker keeping his eye on the ball 6. Cass Seidon throwing strikes. 7. Gaylen trying to steal home. 8. Joey saying. I can’t believe he did that. The JV’s were only 2 outs from a league championship, but the Gahr Gladiators came up with 4 runs in the seventh inning to nip the Dons 8-7. It was disappointing to say the least, but overall it as one of the best seasons any Cerritos team has ever had. The season record was 20 games and 5 losses. Cass Seidon a hard throwing left hander struck out 144 batters in 87 innings land Mike Brunsman had an unbelievable 9 wins and no loss record. Seidon led the team in hitting with a .420 average and 30 RBI’s including 6 homeruns. Also swinging good hits for the Dons were Wayne Walker. 362. Doug Stout .321, and John Vanderlinden .300. Coach Emard had nothing but praise for what he considered his finest team ever. It as a total team effort with all twenty players contributing to our success. 152
