VARSITY SAVED THEIR BEST FOR LAST The Varsity Soccer team didn’t have a winning season but the guys still kept high hopes and worked hard. It all payed off with a tie against Paramount, then it got much better. The team played the most terrific game of the season against our cross town rivals Gahr. The Dons who won a close game of 4-3 and putting the Gladiators out of C.I.F. playoffs. Their last game, the Varsity squished in one more win to finish up their season. The all league selections were Tony Schrodi for defense and Enrique Andrade on offense. 1. Varsity Soccer Team. 2. Javier Andrade takes a skip, hop. and a jump to the goal. 3. Tony Shrodi skims by and intercepts the ball. 4. Cladio Balboa keeps his eyes on the ball. 5. Richard Pinarzi gains yardage for Cerritos goal. 6. Angel Santos head bumps the ball and keeps it away from La Mirada. 7. Javier and Enrique Andrade team up to keep ball from opponents. 8. Fernando Gonzaves kicks the ball away from the foe

Rick Naham and James Traino run to stay ahead ofGahr. 8. Go Cerritos! 7 This year the Varsity X-Country Team was led by Dale Bausch and Robert Diaz, the team's number one and two runners. Coach Smuts was very pleased with the entire team's running season and said they had done exceptionally well. They ended the season with a total of seven wins and only two losses. It should be noted that both losses were only by one point. As is custom, the Varsity X-Country Team excels again. 135
