J.V. WENT THROUGH GROWING PAINS Well, what can you say about a 0-16 season, but it was a growing year for the girls’ J.V. tennis team and new coach. The season started out slow with a small unsure team. Although, as the season went on, the team grew and started having much more identity. We had many tennis players who were beginners but showed a lot of improvement during the season. Even though all the games were lost, the girls always kept their spirits high and through it all had plenty of good times. Besides, who ever said winning was everything? Next year should prove to be a much better and experienced team. 1. Erika ready to return the opponents ball. 2. Kim, with determination for an ace serve. 3. The team picture.

Rick Naham and James Traino run to stay ahead ofGahr. 8. Go Cerritos! 7 This year the Varsity X-Country Team was led by Dale Bausch and Robert Diaz, the team's number one and two runners. Coach Smuts was very pleased with the entire team's running season and said they had done exceptionally well. They ended the season with a total of seven wins and only two losses. It should be noted that both losses were only by one point. As is custom, the Varsity X-Country Team excels again. 135
