From the time he enters high school until the night of his graduation, he is constantly being confronted by class time, study time, organization time, social activities time, and very often, eating time. Time is also spent in anticipation, day dreams, and the building of high hopes for the future. The high school student learns early that time is a young person's greatest wealth, it is his to waste or make productive. THE TIME IS 1965 when Ceres Union High School showed a marked increase in enrollment. It was a time of change, when build- ings went up and down, and when three school districts united into one. In the future more such change will occur, as the school grows with the city. This Cereal will recall to you the comparatively short time spent in classes and on campus at Ceres High. The ticking of the clock might well be a reminder of the most important thing in the world-- the passing of timeg a reminder that the opportunity which today pre- sents will never be repeated. THE TIME IS 1965-- your year and your CEREAL. The Page donated 7 by A, F, S. SENIOR MESSAGE As you scan the pages of the 65 Cereal for the first time your so- joum at Ceres High will be con- cluded. When you entered nigh school, each entertained doubt as to your eventual success. Today you can look back and review with certain pride the fact all requirements for the diploma have been com- pleted. Congr. tulations to each member of the grad- uating class is ii. -rder. Your goal, high school grad- uation, is at hand. The Class of 65 has maintained and extended the proud traditions of Ceres High Seniors. The classes that follow will be challenged to attain and extend your records. At the conclusion of the commencement exercises you will officially join the illustrious throng of Ceres High Alumni. Your student days will be forever gone. Thereafter when you return to the halls of your Alma Mater, you will be alumni. Other classes will hoist the enviable senior banner but no class will ever take your place, for you are the spirit of 65 and will live on in the annuals of Ceres High history. F. E. Special thanks go first to our photographers, Shoob's. For only the price of getting the Senior business, these men spend countless hours away from the studio yelling their lungs out and snapping hundreds of dollars worth of pictures of a group of people who hardly seem to appreciate it. Many thanks to them. Then, thanks go to Taylor Publishing Company who does such a fine job of publishing our book, and to the company representative, Mr. Joe Hodson. We would also like to give a big thanks to all of the teachers who have relinquished much class time so that pictures could be taken. Last, we would like to thank our advisor, Mr. Robert Messer, and the yearbook staff for all their efforts in putting this book together. We think that together, we have succeeded in producing a yearbook to be proud of, the 1965 Cereal. With the devoted efforts and time of Bert Stevenson the band has earned high acclaim throughout the state. The band began the 1964- 65 school year with an active season of marching. They provided each game and rally with lively music. In November they attended the Central California Band Review and brought home third place honors. The Ceres Band was invited to perform at the National Music Educators' Convention, Western Division in April at Long Beach. They were chosen as one of the top bands in four states. Through the organization of the band council, the band members were able to raise enough money for their journey south. They also participated in the Band Festival at Stockton and ended the year with their annual Spring Concert. 95 Bert Stevenson Band Director -25.4. - W i ffl ' six 355 Q ' Q l 1 R , W A L l E w 1 A S K ,. 3 K Wk,.V,, MN, I 'ul'-fm ,.V,W,. ,WMM .x aura-new asians-........3.,, 97 D A N C E S 98 Q.
