ONCE UPON A TIME . . . . . . there existed in the most western part of the big little state of West Virginia, which is in the big country of the United States of Amer- ica, a little town by the name of Ceredog and close to this town, so close that you could stand upon both at the same time, was the town of Kenova. Together they made a wonderful little community. In the heart of this happy community was a large movie studio that dealt exclusively with the business of turning out professional actors. These actors were professional in the sense that they were taught to be well rounded by the varied education that they learned from their work in the studio, and they were taught how to apply their experiences to the future roles that they would play in life. The script writers of this studio, which was located in the green valley of the beautiful Ohio, daily produced endless reels of knowledge. The reels were endless since knowledge has no end, what is learned is continued or added to. To the many students who were busy trying to absorb this knowledge, these script writers and critics were among the best that could be found in the whole world, for there was not one group of people anywhere else who wished to help these struggling actors more than they. The director of this happy studio was Elmer Tabor. He was a man who possessed the rare quality of both liberality and firmness, and the two mixed together made him a very good and a very well-liked principal. He has directed the business of this bustling studio with sound judg- ment, and its workers should repay him by turn- ing out even better movies. And for the tale of this studio . . .

RUTH STOCKTON SUTHERLAND Because of her unfailing devotion to her job as the Heraldus Staff adviser and as the adviser of the Sentinel Staff, because of her happiness in par- ticipating in community activities, because of her willingness to lend her talents whenever they may be needed, and because of her modest wish to keep behind the scenes, we take pride in dedicating this Heraldus of 1954 to Mrs. Ruth Stockton Sutherland.
