T I i' Foul Harvey Leslie Gregory was born to Englnsh parents IH India November 16 1871 He was graduated from the Royal Military Academy un London where he studned both mulntary scnence and musuc For seventeen years he served tn the Brutrsh army taklng part nn the Boer War the Boxer Rebellion and the second Egyptnan war Coming to the United States In 1904 for ad venture he served for thnrteen years as a captaun of United States Cavalry After the World War he became a United States Army Bandmaster and later began the prnvate teaching of musuc .
