Three of these Freshmen who were the last to cross the finish line in the traditional Freshman Race at half- time of Homecoming had their heads shaved in accord- ance with custom. The Women's Student Council provided the men with a real treat when they sponsored their Backward Dance. It sure was nice to be waited for rather than waiting, for Aonce at least. This would probably have taken the number one spot for entertaining chapels if anyone had conducted a poll.

Miss Nan Richardson was selected Homecoming Queen for 1949-50 by the Men of Centre. In the Queen's Court were Barbara Snead, Anna Lee Moore, Burva Whitehurst, Nan Richardson, Elinor Patterson, Barbara Doerr, and Mickey Morris. Fall graduation was held amid many long sad faces. The graduates were sorry to leave, and we certainly hated to see them go.
