All the preseason polls had Cen- tralia easily winning the St. He- lens League and the top Con- tender for the state title, that was until injuries started eliminating starters. Even though the Tigers didn't make the playoffs the coaches were proud of the kids who replaced those injured and still made Centralia a competi- tive team. All league honors were received by Richard Stos- zek, Ron Cardwell, and Lee Schmitt. Honorable mentions were received by Jerry Albaugh, Jon Bridgewater, and Paul Dean. 1 FOOTBALL Varsity WE OPPONENT 10 Ingraham 24 Chehalis O Kelso 13 Prairie 35 Camas 13 R.A. Six matches were completely can- celled due to inclement weather and there were - believe it or not - 17 rainouts which had to be rescheduled. This year's Tigers were a very young team with plenty of new faces. All the hopes of the squad were placed squarely on the shoulders of the two senior returning lettermen, Richard Stoszek and Clint Baumel. Though their efforts were game, this duo could not make up for the inexperience of the younger players and unfortunately the season re- cord shows not a single victory in the ten matches played. The varsity ladder basically read: Richard Stoszek, Tuan Tran, and john Luton at singles with the combinations of Clint Baumel, Chris Thomas and Mark Dyce, joe Enbody at doubles.
