Vice-Principaf Waldo Roberts Principal Harold Geffrke Vice-Principal Roberts Says: Principal Gelirke Says: This school year, as all school years, has passed by all too quickly. But as we look back in later life, We will realize that it has been a busy and profitable one. Continue to prepare yourselves for the responsi- bilities and challenges that will be yours in the tasks that lie ahead. Prepare well, that you will be better able to contribute fully to a happy life for yourself and your loved ones. To the seniors, I extend my most sincere congrat- ulations and best wishes for the future. We will miss you. Congratulations also to the annual staff for this fine annual. This record of school life will recall many happy days spent in Centralia High, and will be a lasting possession of satisfaction to us all. May we look back to the past with pleasure and to the future with anticipation. Page 3 This year marks the last time I shall be greeting you as principal of a four-year school. All those who help to plan and operate our Centralia schools hope that the junior high school will help solve some of the dilemna you faced as entering freshmen. Per- haps merely calling entering students sophomores will destroy the fear. At any rate, we can say of you, you were the last to graduate from Centralia High School as a four year institution. When it comes time to summarize the achieve- ment of each class I wonder how all the various honors and awards you posted as a group can be re- duced to a few words. Certainly, among the high- lights is the enviable scholarship efforts in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Such success can not be attributed only to individuals, student or adult, but to an attitude. Such an attitude is es- pecially praiseworthy when We consider the critical position of the United States in World affairs. Such achievement shows the entire world that scholarship has not been neglected here. The regret I feel at seeing you leave is mixed with optimism and certainty as to your successful futures. As you leave Centralia High School remem- ber that We will all be wishing for you to gain the goals you set for yourselves. l 1 1 l 4
