Semi Stale Playoff Four years of hard work and we were there. A chance to prove ourselves the best in Mis- souri. An opportunity many of us would never see again. The game was a furious swirl of excitement, relatively free of mistakes. But it ended in suffocating frustration, the kind that leaves you looking about, feeling empty, and want- ing desperately to have another chance. This is when I would have to choose as the time I was most proud of my boys. To cross the field and congratulate the other squad took courage, sportsmanship and character. It was then that I really realized how great this team was, for they were and had truly dis- played all that I had ever asked of them, poise, pride, desire and the attitude of never giving up. We lost a football game, but we were not beaten in our minds or in our hearts and our motto stands: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. --Rockney Calhoun f' .1
