MINI-FLOAT9. PRETTY QUEEN. VICTORY MAKE CHS COURTWARMING The 1973 Courtwarming activities started with each class and COE en- tering a mini-float in the parade. The floats were judged in the afternoon be- fore the game and then announced at half-time of the boys' game. The win- ner of the best mini-float was the soph- omore class. Also at half-time, Celected from the five nomineesb the queen was announced. Carmen Bryson was crowned queen and escorted by Mike Drew. Her attendants were Donna Dick, escorted by Tim Sals- buryg Rhonda Galloway, escorted by Tom Tom Kilbourng Debie Potts, escorted by Dan Bohlmeyerg and Sylvia Stovall, escorted by Randy Welch. Carmen was crowned by the retiring queen, Pam Davenport, who was escorted by Charlie Stidham. The boys' varsity basketball team de- feated Monroe City, 72-61, and the girl's lost by the small margin of 42-46. The evening was topped off by the Stu- dent Commission dance featuring Dusty Foot as the band. 68 g.. 1

PEP CLUB HAS BUSY YEAR Pep Club, an organization for girls who are inter- ested in promoting school spirit, participated in var- sity activities. Pep Club girls supported the varsity football and basketball teams throughout the season by coming to their games and cheering along with the cheerleaders. Some of the girls also made posters before each football and basketball game and hung them in the halls to remind everyone of the games to be played. During football season, Pep Club sponsored the I Homecoming Dance. For the CHS Basketball Tour- nament and Regionals they made and sold programsg together with the GAA , they worked in the concession stand for the Centralia Relays and the Conference track Pep Club Shows Spirit at Basketball game meetsg Pep Club members also served the All Sports Banquet.
