MINI-FLOAT9. PRETTY QUEEN. VICTORY MAKE CHS COURTWARMING The 1973 Courtwarming activities started with each class and COE en- tering a mini-float in the parade. The floats were judged in the afternoon be- fore the game and then announced at half-time of the boys' game. The win- ner of the best mini-float was the soph- omore class. Also at half-time, Celected from the five nomineesb the queen was announced. Carmen Bryson was crowned queen and escorted by Mike Drew. Her attendants were Donna Dick, escorted by Tim Sals- buryg Rhonda Galloway, escorted by Tom Tom Kilbourng Debie Potts, escorted by Dan Bohlmeyerg and Sylvia Stovall, escorted by Randy Welch. Carmen was crowned by the retiring queen, Pam Davenport, who was escorted by Charlie Stidham. The boys' varsity basketball team de- feated Monroe City, 72-61, and the girl's lost by the small margin of 42-46. The evening was topped off by the Stu- dent Commission dance featuring Dusty Foot as the band. 68 g.. 1

GAA AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP Gir1's Athletic Association, QG .A .A .j, consisted of sev- enty active and excited girls. The G.A .A. included the slopping of mud and gritting of teeth which marked their i annual tug-of-war, when seniors took revenge on freshmen. G.A .A. girls also participated in the Powder Puff foot- ball game, battling to a discouraging O-0 score for both girl's teams. Other activities held by G.A .A. were a bake sale and an intramural volleyball game . The annual G.A .A. scholarship of S300 awarded to one of its members planning to major or minor in Physical Ed- p ucation, was given to Peggy Heithaus.
