GOLFERS WIN CCC TITLE l Dee Daugherty Kirk Waisner With the combination of skilled golfers and Coach Steve McCarty the '73 golf team won the Clarence Cannon Conference Championship at South Shelby. Members of the golf team winning the Conference for Centralia were Kirk Waisner, Charlie Palmer, Steve Denham , and Keith Harmon. The boys' var- sity season ended with a 8-1 record. CROSS COUNTRY. WRESTLING NEW T0 CHS Coach Calhoun, with the help of Mr. Bill Ray, organized a Cross Country team at CHS. We hoped that it would help prepare some of the athletes dur- ing the fall months for the spring track season, said Coach Calhoun. The 11 boys who came out for the team ran 8 - 9 miles or more for con- ditioning during their practice. The meets that the team ran in consisted O C f Left to Right, 1st ROW: K. Alton, C. Dailing, D. TRACK TEAM ENDS SEASON 6-O. O-3 The track team extended its undefeated record in dual- tri-and quadrangular meets this year with a 6-O record. However, they had a 0-3 record in relays. Records broken by team members were the 880 yd. run and 2 mile relay. Greg Kaiser set the record in the 880 yd run with a 2gOO.1g Buz- zy Kaiser, Bill Mansfield, Dave Shanklin, Greg Kaiser, set a new rec- ord in the 2 mile relay with a 8:4'7.2 time.
