LOOKING Let 's call in Radar, and Atomic Energy, to help us look into the future. Ten years have elapsed and let 's see if we can find any of the old gang who graduated from Centralhatchee High in '48, Hey over there does that sign say, Modern Beauty Shoppe. Let 's stop in for a manicure. Why here 's Udine Noles and Vera Medlock. They always did try to please the men. Here 's a drug store, let 's stop in for a soda, and catch up on the gossip. Well, here 's Jack Walls and Travis Cassell soda jerking. Once a jerk, always a jerk, I say. On Central Avenue is a grocery store owned by Brooks Landers. Here 's the hospital, let 's go in and see if we can find any of the old crowd. They were al- ways ailing fin the head of coursej. Well what have we here? Nurses. No, Agnes Bryan guar- anteed to cure or kill. Strolling on down the street and peering into an office window we see Pauline Johnson on the boss' knee taking dictation. Such Short- hand. They didn't teach it like that when I went to old C. H. S. Going on down the familiar old street, we pass the Gateway Office and Marvis Marlowe draws our attention by his complete lack of interest in the editorial R. L. Bailey is labor- ously hammering out on the typewriter. Here is the grand old school. Only it 's new now, thank goodness, the younger generation will never have the old building to find fault. Hearing Tschaikowsky and tracking it down we find Bobbie Jackson teaching music. Who's the industrious Math teacher? Well, Russ Hester. I wonder if he helps pupils in Alge- bra like he used to help us on Exams. That 's a laugh .... To the gym. Why, if it isn't Lou Jean Hannah teaching Physical Education. And now for the opening basketball game of the season. Centralhatchee Red Birds vs. AHEAD University of Georgia. There 's a coach giving the boys a last minute pep talk. That blonde head looks strongly familiar. Why it 's Eugene Sheets. Now look at the opposing team with Junior Noles as their coach. They should put up some strong opposition. Let's take in a movie after this game. Here's Owen Cook Davis as manager. Joyce Daniel selling tic- kets Cshe always did like to handle doughl. Here are two handsome ushers to show us to our seats. They're Bobby Coleman and Eu- gene Evans. We 're tired, and our feet are praying for a lift, so we hail a taxi. We see another familiar face, Harvey Neighbors, the Textile Executive. As we gander out the Window we noticed a neon lighted sign, Pete 's Cleaners, and the handsome owner, Arlin Paschel, flirting with his stenographer, Cutine Noles. We ride past the business section to the residential section of town where we see a par- sonage, inside the Rev. Bradley Milam is try- ing to cheer the homesick Marine, Dan Den- ney. While an annoying sound comes from the kitchen, and who could it be but Dewey Loften tinkering with the refrigerator. There comes into view a prosperous looking chicken farm, and there's Dara Worley Gore delivering eggs for the day f just a part time jobl. Before turning off our Radar a11d Atomic Energy, we see Jessie Medlock, the building contractor, completing a purchase from the great lumberman, Homer Laster. We have seen boys and girls still holding aloft the banner of physical, mental, and cul- tural development, through whom Central- hatchee High School continues to serve by in- stilling into these young boys and girls high ideals of thinking and living. Thank you Mr. Atom. Boaam JACKSON.
