♦ ♦ ♦ Our President Says Freshman, sophomore, junior, senior—these are the traditional steps to the sheepskin. Onward and upward we climb the ladder of learning. But formal edu- cation alone does not constitute the entire process of acquiring knowledge. Learn- ing in a nuclear age constitutes a great challenge. As one learns, the horizon on the great unlimited sea of knowledge recedes. The more more we learn the more we find there is to know. Alexander Pope well said, “A little learning is a dange- rous thing. But knowledge, to be of true value, must be accompanied by wisdom. Consequently, Christian education is the highest type of learning; that is why Christian schools are needed. It has been yours as students to enjoy a year of learning in a Christian atmos- phere. The 1962 Centralian depicts the happy scenes of that school session. May the memories of the people and events of the year depicted in this annual be cherished across the years to come, and may you ever be true to the ideals you have learned in a Christian college. Rhett Clifton Mullinax
