R. C. MULLINAX A.B., M.A., D.D. DL The main criterion for judging the success of a college is the nature of her finished products. If a school has worthy objectives and accomplishes them, she has justified her purpose for existence. If she fails in either of these respects she does not deserve the confidence or support of her clientele. Central College has announced its purpose, to develop well-balanced Christian young people. To this end she has set up a program to meet the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and aesthetic needs of her students. Hers is not the skill of the sculptor who carves the cold lifeless stones into a work of art. Rather, it is hers to provide for the immortal youth committed to her care, learning situations in an atmosphere con- ducive to development of living beings, who will in time take their places as Christian citizens in a democracy, and as members of Christ's kingdom in the church and -n ihe world. Such is the duty of your Alma Mater. She can only succeed in her efforts as you, her sons and daughters, respond favorably to the situations created and grow into well-balanced Christian young people. Page Twelve
