OUR PRESIDENT On January 3, 1945, Rev. J. B. Hilson, pastor of the Spartan- burg Wesleyan Methodist Church, was elected president of Central College to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of President John Frank Childs. President Hilson came to Central in 1925 as a student in the high school, was graduated in 1928, and completed the Junior Cob lege course in 1931. He then entered Marion College and received his A. B. degree in 1932. Marion College also granted him his M. A. in theology in 1938. President Hilson was married in 1932 and taught here in high school that year and the following one, while Mrs. Hilson was librarian. 1 Ie was principal in a public school in South Carolina for five years. President and Mrs. Hilson have one child, Paul, two years of age. At present they are residing in Spartanburg. President Hilson has entered heartily upon his new duties and has the best interests of the school at heart.
