Truly John Frank Childs received his crown when he passed from this life on February 16, 1945. for he had faithfully served as president of Central College the past twelve years. I lis services and sacrifices meant much to the school, and for his capable leadership, his sterling character, and his deeply devoted spiritual, life which he lived before us we are grateful. He was a man who never knew the meaning of quit. but his heart was in his work and often he would sacrifice pleasures of home just to carry on the interest of God's kingdom and the school. Although President Childs will not be with us in the future, truly he still lives through the unforgettable influence that he left. May Cod ever bless his memory. Many of the young men and women who enter her doors will go out to be missionaries and preachers in the fields ol the Lord, A spiritual atmosphere that is conducive to real Christian living is continually provided for the student. I he college church is located on the campus—here we worship the Lord in the Sunday services. 1 he main midweek service is the 1 uesday night prayer meeting which is held in the college chapel. Io many of the students the Volunteer Prayer Meeting and the Missionary Prayer Meeting are real spiritual boosters. 1 he College Con- ference work is an outstanding feature ol the religious calendar. Ever) Sunday afternoon different groups of the student body visit various circuits lor gospel services. Our chapel program comes in the middle of a busy school day. Varied programs are arranged daily by those in charge. A public mission- ary program is rendered monthly by the Y.M.W.B. 1 he P.S. gathers the students together each Sunday night in the college church.
