BLANTON Theological LILA MIRIAM KENDRICK Sophomore The College AIMS AND PURPOSES Vfhen the pioneers of the Wesleyan Methodist Connection, young people, these are some of the desires and aims that led them to such led by the Holy Spirit, conceived the idea of a school for its action. They wanted an institution that would promote a godly influence upon the young students. Wishing also to protect young people against the ungodly attraction of the day, and to educate for the ministry and Holiness, they approved of only the highest pos- sible type of teachers, high in Christian character and experience as well as scholastic ability., To maintain high standards and prin- ciples, of course rules had to be made.
