Jesse L. Puckett Rosamond Wentworth Classification on page 25. Classification on page 25. The department of Health and Physical Education has shown remarkable growth in the past years. Every seasori finds new activity courses offered the girls to help prepare them for active participation in playground work. Who on this campus has failed to take at least one sniff into the Health Ed. 50 course to see if the cats were still there? All students remember the courses offered by Mr. Nicholson with their side-lights in the problems of the curent football and basketball season. Every girl can find her favorite sport among the many listed in the cata- log: baseball, basketball, volley ball, tennis, badminton, hockey, soccer, field ball, archery, and tumbling. Usually a new experience for the girls are the courses in creative dance, folk dancing, clogging, and social dancing. The Folk Festival and the Dance Drama were the colorful exhibitions given by students in this section of physical education. Well-known figures on the campus are the members of the department- Miss Dean, Miss Puckett, and Miss Wentworth. '

The aim of the health and physical education department is to build sound bodies and graduate a group of students trained to carry on a health and activity program in the public schools. Leo Nicholson and George Mabee are given the double task of coaching the major sports, carrying on a very diversified intra- mural program and teaching courses in health education. Dorothy Dean, head of the women's department in physical and health education, is given the task of teaching upper division classes in health and assigning to each and every freshman and sophomore an activity program to last for six quarters. The dancing and sports program for women is conducted under Jesse Puckett and Rosarnond Wentworth. A variety of courses is offered to all students on the campus. Leslie Hull has the double role of nurse and instructor in health education. She is ably assisted by Alice Flowers. Together they are responsible for the health of the entire campus, work with the problems in health of the training school children and conduct a very efficient infirmary.
