The door is Closed. In n few minutes the door opens and there stands Mr. XVl1itney saying' Come in with his voice and auhling' ai inueh heairtier wolc-oine with his manner. One, two, three, or four years pass hy. The sznne stu- dent enters the huilding' through the same entrance, walks np the saline stnirs, and wnits at the sznne door. That door opens and he receives ai wzirin we-leonie as hefore. It is no wonder that we think, ns we take the picture, that this is prohahly the one experieme which all the students ot' NV. S. N. S. shzire alike, that of being' welcomed and helped hy Mr. Whitney.

We pause under a nearby tree to see who might he the departing' guests. To our surprise the ones who appear on the threshold are not guests hut the distinguished residents. The first lady of XV. S. N. S. is t'llkll'lUll1g'ly gowned and as always is smiling' g'raeiously. Beside her stands the president of our 4-ollege, tall and erect, arrayed in formal hlaek. As they start to desvend the steps they are somewhat startled to hear our request froni the shadows to hold that posef, NVhen they l'O0O,LL'lllZ6 us as 1ll01lllH'S of the llyakem staff who Want only to take their pictures, they readily eonsent and in a few Jnonients we have a souvenir for our annual which expresses one of the good reasons why we believe our school is eI1ti'rled to wear a high hat.
