General Statement 1’l ' ltPOSE AND I’liAN. • In keeping with the general purposes and organization of » te ornI ' schools thruout the country and within the Slate of Washington, the Washington Slate Normal School, at Ellensburg, is organized for the purpose of furnishing definite professional preparation for teachers of the following types: 1. Teachers for graded elementary schools. 2. Teachers especially trained for rural schools. 3. Teachers of kindergarten schools. 4. Principals and supervisors for elementary schools. 5. Teachers of home economics, of manual training and physical edu- cation in schools where the same teacher is engaged for grade work and also for the teaching of such special subjects in the first or second years of high school work. fi.
