uniors JUNIOR HISTORY The TirsT Treshman class To enTer CenTral VocaTional T-ligh School was enrolled on SepTember 8, l942. Some OT The boys were senT To The McMillan STreeT Colony, while oThers remained in The main building. MosT boys quickly adiusTed Themselves To The new rouTine, presenTed To Them by experienced and able insTrucTors. Under Their guidance, The TirsT year passed quiclcly even Though iT was a diTTiculT one because our school was newly organized. The Tollowing SepTember, The boys reTurned To Their classrooms and shops Tor Their second year. Old Triendships were renewed and new ones begun, as The year progressed. Many were inTeresTed in sporTs and sophnnores were well rerseenTed on all The Teams. The boys became ac' quainTed wiTh The various machines in The shops and learned The conTrol and use oT Them, as Time passed. The nexT Tall, The Class oT I946 reTurned Tor iTs Third year aT CenTral, The boys were as- signed To The speciTic shops To learn The vocaTion They had selecTed, since rnosT oT The sTudenTs had Tinished Their relafed subjecTs. A class elecTion was held, wiTh Jaclc SmiTh being chosen Tor presidenT. Again, as in The preceding year, The iunior class was heavily represe Tad in aThleTics. Some boys were proudly displaying new leTTers on Their sweaTers. Many were parTicipaTing in The newly Torrned band. BoaT rides, slcaTing parTies and oTher acTiviTies made liTe aT CenTral a pleasurable one.
