Spring Student Council Spring Student Council involved it- self with changes, both new and old. As Student Body President, Don Spini put it, We need more tradi- tion in the school. So the first change to come about was that the rallies would go back to tradition with the singing of the fight song, and the cheerleaders would lead cheers and songleaders lead songs. The Prom also went more tradition- al, such as having hors df Oeuvers, waiters and the garter game. Some of the new changes were in the Stu- dent Council Class itself and the meetings. The class was switched to 4th period so that the advisor, Mr. Bergstrom, could attend and the meetings which were usually held during class periods, were changed to be held during one of the lunches. This change came about because of complaints from a few of the faculty about students getting called out of class, and it showed also that the students who were willing to skip their lunch period for the meeting were really dedicated to being in- volved in Student Council. Spring was a busy time for student council with events such as the Prom, Spirit Week, fund-raisers, the Sweetheart Ball and Hawaiian dance and finally, graduation. A. 1 1 QW liffiwastfi 5 + S X x 3
