Spirit Squad Generated Crowd Spirit The 1980 football spirit squad was exciting and enthusiastic. They were always in the middle of Fal- con spirit. The squad had a picnic, barbecue, hot dog sale, and several car wash- es. When we sponsored the car washes we left our problems be- hind and had a good time as a family, is how Cris McCullough expressed her sentiments about the car washes. During the summer, most of the squad traveled to cheerleader camp. Terri McFate claimed it to be an enjoyable and informative camp which all cheerleaders should attend. Mascot Julie McLaren said, Gen- erating crowd spirit was a major part of the squad's job and in turn we used the crowds' yelling and radical attitude to keep the play- ers flying high. The crowds' sentiments for the squad were best expressed when Senior Mike Barkly said The squad really got the crowd in- volved at games and helped every- one to have a good time.
