60 Dean Johnston: Athletic, I-Iardworking Dean Johnston was athletic throughout all 3 of his years at CV. He played foot- ball, basketball, and baseball as a sopho- more. The following year he participated in football and baseball, he dropped bas- ketball and began working on other inter- ests, his car and motorcycle. His senior year, he started as safety on the football team and shortstop on the baseball team. His car, a powder blue Mustang Califor- nia Special, with blue pin striping, and blue velvet interior, is very special to him. He has put a lot of work into it. In addition to playing organized sports, he enjoys water and snow skiing. Dean is also active in other school activi- ties, he was the senior class representa- tive during the 2nd semester. He was the best man for the wedding in Marriage for Moderns class. ln Dean's senior year he maintained a 3.67 grade point average. For the past 14 years Dean has lived in Round Mountain with his parents and older sister Vicki. ln December, he began working at the Family Planning Center on a panel of teenage educators. This panel gives free counsel and advice to teenagers with nu- merous problems. ln the summer Dean works setting chockers on logs. He fas- tens the chocker to one end of the log and fastens that onto the bow line on the main cable. Dean plans to attend college, but where, he has yet not decided. 1. She is an outstanding volley- ball, basketball and softball player. In basketball she was the most ag- gressive player on the court. Julie would hustle for the ball no matter where it was on the court. And she played 1st base on the softball team. Besides being a great athlete, Julie is involved in other school activi- ties. She is on the newspaper staff and has been for the past 2 years. She has the editorial page.. On her page is the cartoon Radical Randy and her own editorial. Julie has 1 brother, Justin 21, that graduated from CV and 1 younger sister, Jackiel - In the summer Julie works at Holi- day Harbor cleaning out house- boats. And she plays softball for the Redding Merchants in the sum- mer. . -is

Tracy Boughn Kelly Bowen Tammie Bozarth Seniors Gathered For Double Mock Wedding On Wednesday, October 22, Renee Chesson and Mike Corbell tied the knot as did Greg Beaton and Suzanne Wood in their Marriage for Mo- derns class. The ceremony was very beautiful, Renee and Suzanne wore long white gowns, Mike and Greg wore white tuxes. Mike's best man was Kelly Heston. Greg's was Dean Johnston: Renee's and Suzanne's maids of honor were Kathy Brubaker and Jill Peterson. Their brides maids were Wen- dy Rehberg and Janet Sands. The wedding began at 10:00 at the Church of the N 'L -1' Lake Blvd. Guests were met at the ei .asker i. During the wedding, bride Renee Chesson be- gan to cry. Mr. VandeVenter said this was the first time that it had ever happened at a mock wedding.
