Dan Frank Robert Frederickson Jerry Garrotte Darleen Gaynor Brenda Gehlken Vicki Gerlach John Goin Esther Gotcher Weston Gouldsmith Lynn Tews An Involved Jumor Lynn Tews is a junior who has been recommended by many teachers for her academic work and her many involvements in and out of school She has had to work hard to keep up her grades and feels all her activities affect her grades somewhat but says I think being involved furthers your knowledge in life and with people and that involvement is just another phase of education Lynn has many varied interests one of which is flying airplanes' She s doing it on her own by takmg lessons and plans on getting her pilot s license on her 17th birthday Other mterests include showing her two horses a thoroughbred and an Arabian and she enjoys snow skiing at Mt Bachelor or Tahoe and in the summer she Shakey s Pizza Here family encourages her in her activities and they often ride together or ski and go to Hawaii on vacations Asked about school she enthusiasti cally replies I love it' I think C V s the best' The people are speclal They re not clicky ancl everyone is friendly but the school needs a little more spirit' Lynn is lookmg forward to Semor skip days and after high school plans on attending college possibly Pepper me water skies at Shasta Lake. Angel Hamilton Ralph Hannan Kelly Griffith David Guadagni Diane Hagstrom Running To The Top Allen Simpson is a junior who is outstanding in a couple of areas. Bob Harrison Ann Haskins Allen was highly recommended by the math department and sever- al other teachers also. He was in Algebra ll and Trig for the year and found math easier than some of his other classes. But, while fl concentrating on school, Allen has another big hobby. He runs! He was the number one runner for C.V. in cross country and he trains all during the winter for track in spring. He runs every day at g g g school and at home and he enjoys it very much. He also snow skies at Mt. Ashland, water skies at Shasta Lake and rides motorcycles. Living in Central Valley all his life, A he feels that C.V. is a good school ' 'W M f and he likes it alot. School spirit is j U U the one ingredient that he feels is Dawd Hawkms Denms Havre really special and the fact that stu- dents are all closely united. But, even with all the spirit, he feels we can still use more. During the next year or so, he is preparing for college and looking forward to doing things with friends and just plain enjoying high school.
