Mr John McHargue A Born Leader On the football field where John McHargue coached for 23 years he was known as slave driver a person George Patton would have been proud of ln the class room his students respect him and Uncle Zeek Any one of his students could tell you he s a true patriot that never says die' Mr Bob Eaton can be quoted as saying He was born two hundred years late meaning he would have liked to have lived in the time he lectures about Family is the most important area of Mr McHargue s life Mr McHargue is very helpful with his sons studies His guiding hand has led one son to West Point and the other is showing the same McHargue initiative and tal ent Mr McHargue is the leader in his home which is truly his castle The McHargue family enjoys activities such as swimming and barbecues Football was second only to his family 35 years of his life were spent playing or coaching He arrived at Cen tral Valley in 1971 He was the first to instigate a serious weight training program Coach McHargue retired after the 77 78 football season for reasons he said are too complex and many to elaborate Probably the most important thing about John McHar gue is his philosophy of fall down 7 times and get up 8 He not only teaches it he lives it , ' . 7' ' 4a . .
