Dave Ashcraft Mathematics Department The general goal the department would like to accomplish is to help everybody learn math and make sure that classes are right for stu- dents and their individual goals. A definite goal in mind for this year was to have each student pass the proficiency test. The proficiency classes, introduced in 79-80, were improved. According to Mr. Ashcraft, it usually takes about S650 to cover the cost of the math department for necessities such as magazines for proficiency classes, contests for analysis class and other math materials.
