Two colors oT sToclcings and oTher humorous aTTire. This is whaT The Sophomores did To us as iniTiaTion. ln our Sophomore year we held The Frosh-Sophomore parTy. We raised money Tor The Annual by selling popcorn and candy aT games and by sponsoring dances. Many oT our members were acTive on The baslceTball, TooTball, and baseball Teams. This year The new members enTered inTo Pep Club were: Beverly Sullivan. Jaclc YaTs. Bob Payne, Gordon Mellom, and PaTsy Linlce. Our members chosen Tor Torch and Quill were Mary Frances Kimmel and Bill Clay. Our biggesT responsibiliTy as Juniors was The Junior Prom. We also sponsored oTher dances To earn our Annual quoTa. SOPHCMORE CLASS HISTORY 'GU' As freshmen we were given The friendly welcome usually exfended To frosh-iniTia- Tion. We lived Through iT. Though. and began an acfive year of sporTs and work for The school. including The classic burning of The eagle. We began our Sophomore year wiTh as much enfhusiasm and pep as ever. WiTh a loT of vigor we piled inTo our pleasanf iob of making The Frosh feel aT home. Red was The prevalenf color. and you could recognize a frosh anywhere in The halls by Thaf slighT smear of lipsTick on his or her nose. Everyone had a nice Time aT The Frosh- Sophomore parTy where They enioyed games, boTh old and new. old-fashioned danc- ing. a program of songs, dances. and skifs. and. of course-food. Jeanne Nelson generously donafed a flag To The school for The Sophomore Class. For our class officers we chose Orlyn Vigesaa as presidenf and Jim Zophi as vice- presidenT. Joyce Beck was our secrefary and Carol lngalls, our Treasurer. Mary Cafherine Allen and Orlyn Vigesaa were Taken info Pep Club and Jim Upchurch and PaTsy Dahl were Sfudenf Council represenTaTives. Mariie Finfel repre- senfed us in Girls' League. When Torch and Quill was reorganized The new members from our class were: Mary Cafherine Allen. Anifa l'lurT. Carol lngalls, Lavonne Olsen. PaT Smifh. LoreTTa Tingley. and Carol Ann WhiTe. AT The Walla Walla foofball game we had The canTeen and lafer on we sponsored oTher sales To raise our quoTa for The annual.
