Amelia Kerber Store-Keeper Esther Burke, Secretary Hugh Tucker, Tell-Leader Sydney Boucher, Treasurer Holgar Hansen, Sgt.-at-Arms The Student Body of Central Union High School has accomplished many things this year. One of the most import- ant transactions was that of purchasing a motion picture machine. The machine was paid for partly with money left by the seniors of the previous year, partly from funds donated by the Civic Center, and the balance by receipts from moving Picture shows. . A . Student Body tickets which entitled members to certain privileges, including reduced entrance prices to Student Body pictures, were soldg a quarterly paper, the last ed- ition of which is the annual, was publishedg the Executive Committee secured many interesting speakers for the Student Bodyg the Student Body has encouraged interscholastic games by purchasing twelve sweat shirts and six jerseys. A pennant was given by the Student Body to the gram- mar school winning in their basketball league, the letter system which had not proven wholly satisfactory has been e revised during the year, the Student Body had booths at the May Day Celebration in which refreshments were sold to the Visitors. The Executive committee consisting of the officers of the Student Body has held numerous meetings for the con- sideration of student problems and making recommendations regarding the various activities coming under their juris- diction. The Committee wishes to take this opportunity to express their appreciation of the cooperation of the students and teachers in all student activities. S ----Esther Burke '30

Everything tending toward outside activities is sponsored by the Student Body which is the vital organization of the school. Each of these 8.0- tivitics need to be financed.. The athletic teams need uniforms, the Fresno County League requires dues, the li'r-es!-.mazz reception must be financed, the girls' play days cost money, May Day requires expenditures for costumes and equipment, the scholarship society needs expense money, the commercial contestants must have their entry fees paid, the track team, and in fact, every activity, costs money. The state law will not allow tax funds to be used for these purposes. These funds must be raised somehow. In country schools dues are the only practical means of raising money. Every loyal student pays his dues.
