The conference was held at the Hilton Hotel Philadelphia and alumni participation contributed to making the conference a success. 1'

Held again this year in the Beacom Gymnasium, lt was one ot the universi ty's most successful ever in terms of prospec- tlve employers meeting with students. 148 com- panies, government agencies, school systems and graduate and non graduate schools sent teams of representatives to Central to meet with students from all majors and classifications .Q - 9 19 V .,.,9'f',' si QWV, I for discussions on career opportunities. More than two-thirds of the participating employers were based in Ohio and many out-of-state re cruiters represented companies which also have partial operations within the state. Career Day activities were designed for career educa tion and awareness-for students at all levels rather than recruitment for specific positions. lt was estimated that 25 percent of the student body participated in the Career Day program. X- -9'l 'sm i Many Central State Unlverslty alumni were among members of the National Alliance of Business Youth Motlvatlon Task Force team which visited the C.S.U. campus ln OctoberfNovember. Llke Career Day, the Youth Motlvatlon Task Force vlslt was spon sored by the Office of Career Planning and Placement. The Task Force was a joint ven- ture of the National Alllance of Business, the Presldent's Task Force and Youth Motlvatlon and the unlverslty. The program provided stu- 3 X dents with an opportunity to interact with per- sonnel who work in non-traditional jobs as well as to strengthen the understanding of job opportunities through direct contact for students with successful minority role mod els . The program included classroom vlslta- tions, Informal rap sessions in Dabney cafete rla and all dormitories. A formal panel discussion provided additional opportunity for Interaction between students and the visiting professionals.
