Seniors who worked at WCSU-FM radio andfor on television projects in the Telecom munlcatlons Center were honored with plaques at the annual Telecommunications Awards Banquet in the Spring Quarter. TOP: Students had an opportunlty to speak with area media professionals, and Cathy Patterson, a junior from New York City, took the opportunlty to discuss career opportuni ties with Don Coleman of WELX-FM radio in Xenia. MIDDLE: Barbara Frledmann, communl ty affairs director at WCSU, Introduced the honorees, and Booker Schooler, president of the Friends of WCSU presented an award to Jeffery Dennis. BOTTOM: Seniors honored at the banquet were Cfrom lefty Larry Sanderlin, Ron Strahorn and Jeffery Dennis, who were congratulated by RoNita Hawes, community affairs director at WPTD-WPTO-TV 14-16, who was the featured speaker for the evening program in Mercer Cafeteria. .it

Y DD EL F ER HP Although the United States elected to boy- cott the 1980 Olympics In Montreal, the stu dents at Cox Elementary School in Xenia en joyed their own mini-Olympics put on by stu- dents from the Department of Health, Physical Educatlon and Recreation at Central State. Under the direction ot Ms. Gwendolyn Hawkins, HPER department chairperson, the majors planned and directed the annual Field day for the children. Activities Included games, races and contests.
