Within its pages you will see a multiplicity of candid and set photographs-all revealing various persons and things-the different facets that constitute Central State University. As the Centralian's faculty advisor, l wish to thank the Cen- tralian editor, Mr. Gilbert Habatunde George, along with his staff, for the painstaking and dedicated effort invested in this product. Through Gilbcrt's leadership and work this yearbook was conceived and developed. My personal thanks go also to the various University in- dividuals, groups and offices who cooperated with us. The tone of cooperation set by President Newsom radiated favorably throughout the structure of the University. Our mission was to portray Central State as it was within a specific time frame. We hope we have done a good job. We hope that you, the reader, like what you read in the Cen- tralian and will deem it worthy of permanent and promi- nent display in your personal library. ' .lames E. Alsbrook August commencement officially saw the conclusion of another historical chapter in the life of Central State University. The academic year '74!'75 was filled with event- ful activities. What with the numerous blood chilling musical concerts by top nam- ed artists like Graham Central Station, Herbie Hancock, and Roy Ayersg breathtak- ing basketball and football games with wins over highly ranked University of Dayton and Morgan State University: educational lecture concerts with inter- national speakersg commencement servicesg dedication and rededication exercises. How does one remember all these fascinating and historical moments, twenty, even five years from now without a concise memoir like The Centralian. It takes an ex- ceptional genius to recapitulate all these in the space of time. That's why we refer to the '75 Centralian as a Printed Genius , a book of stored knowledge. This is a work of art put together hy a group of dedicated enuises using bits and lacks of sometimes hard to get information and materiafs during the school year. The ul- timate product of these very few hard working individuals is what you now have, to be treasured and kept for generations to come. Ilopefully generations to come will find something, somewhere in . these pages clustered with picturcs to which they can relate. We won't take offense if they laugh at our so-'called Today's fashions : Afro hairstyle, clog shoes, straw hats and purses, hot pants and halter tops, long skirts and what have you. Maybe they'll feel the same way I feel now about those good ole days as shown in page two 121. THAT IS PROGRESS! We ofthe Centralian have done our best to include almost every aspect of Central State life during the '74!'75 school year in this volume but the uncooperative aml I don't care attitudes of few irresponsible enemies of progress have limited our contents. I again sort the cooperation of the entire Central State family to work with the staff of the student publications fGold Torch!Centralianj in putting outa better college weekly and annual. Diversified ideas and creative thoughts are integral in- gredients for an annual of the Centralian Calibre. Help us not to overburden our few dedicated staff members.
