. 'fi' . Queen SHIRLEY KINCAID amiva r I ln October, the Central Point Carnival, now an annual event was staged with both surprising and cheering results, for the second consecutive year. This year's carnival, advised and directed by Mr. Harrison was for a general student body fund. Each class elected a candidate for the contest to determine who would reign as Queen of the Carni- val. The candidates were Marjorie Hilkey, Fresh- man, Beverly Watson, Sophomore, Elaine Westrup, junior, and Shirley Kincaid, Senior. The contest was close and exciting all the way, ended when the final count showed Shirley Kincaid to be Queen. Such clubs and organizations as the Order of C, the Girls' Pep Club, each class, and many others held concessions. A large, jostling, cheering, and happy crowd bought their tickets and were away to an evening .Q -k,..1P,f..-F:-E.-nf 2---Q-wir-wg, -- -fy 573,-Q., Ti Clzird pface BEVERLY WATSON The music is softly playing and in marches the Fourth place winner in the contest, Marjorie Hil- key. Closely following her is the third place winner, Beverly Watson, then second in place we find Elaine Westrup. Following the rest is the Queen of the carnival Shirley Kincaid. She graciously ascends to the throne and is crowned by the president of the student body. As a token of appreciation Shirley is given a large box of candy. The music stops, the lights dim, and a moving picture is in process. The picture furnishes vast entertainment for the older folks, and a comedy entertains the younger folks. At the conclusion of the pictures, the lights are again flashed on and the booths are again open for business. , ln appreciation for well organized and very suc- cessful carnival the student body presented Mr. Harrison with a Parker pen and pencil set. And in appreciation to the town of Central Point the stu- dents take off their hats and extend to them their most hearty thanks. We hope we have pleased you, and we would appreciate your attendance at the future carnivals. of fun and entertainment. After a couple of hours of visiting the different concessions, we are called to the assembly room for tl'ie main attraction of the evening. First will be the presenting of the queen of the carnival. 3660129 P16166 gourflz pface MARIORIE HILKEY ELAINE WESTRUP. THE POINTER
