Dr. Perry has come to represent in the minds of students, faculty, and administration aprofessor truly dedicated to his work and deeply aware of his significant responsibility to the students under his guidance, He is a man whose field of knowledge is in no way limited to the subjects which he teaches, but broadens to include the great ideas and philosophies of other areas of achieve- ment. Dr. Perry has dedicated histime to campus organizations -- Tau Lambda and Scribblers and Scrawlers -- and to active leadership in student-faculty relations as Chairman of the Honors Committee. At Central Methodist College Dr. Perry has come to represent more than the Chairman of the English Department, more than an academic leader, His personality, kindly patience, and understanding, combined with keen and intelligent mind, have come to stand for all that is best and most respected in a man of true education. There's an overall faint--but quite detectable--odor that blends the biology department's formaldehyde with vapors emitted from the bubbling test tubes of the chemistry department. To be able to survive four years, the mathematicians and physi- cists Who inhabit the other floors must build up an immunity. ,sr in, sb-ff upples Hall Not even a dignified library with in- viting browsing rooms and many tiers of books can escape puns with n name like Cupples Hall. Needless to say, it's fre- quented es often by freshmen starting on those first long term papers as couples who want to study together.
