Frequent changes in student en- rollment, faculty, courses, and semester dates make this theme pertinent. The dedication itself may seem to be part of it. To four outstanding members of the faculty who this year completed either fifteen or twenty years of instruction at Central College, and to another who ended three decades of service, the 1945 RAGOUT is respectfully dedicated. Dr. Frederic A. Culmer was 'born in England, in the county of Kent, just across' the channel from the mainland. His love of horses and his British accent - are two characteristics that have remained with him from his childhood. Since coming to this country, Dr. Culmer has received five degrees from almost as many schools, including Central and the University of Missouri. He is a lawyer, minister, teacher, and author. He was listed in the international Who's Who for his History of Missouri. A five-minute conversation with him is long enough to understand l why he is popular with students and faculty alike.
