An institution in himself, Dean Erastus Paul Puckett has guided the affairs of Central men sinee 1908, finding time also to conduct the other administrative duties of his office. Hundreds of pupils will attest that she is an excellent musician, hut when they speak of her it is more of a friendly instructor they talk, not ofa nation- ally famous composer and pianist. Working at tl1e present time on several new compositions for piano, Dean Wlright is hack at her studio after a prolonged illness. A high spot on tl1e conservatory recital program each year is the duo-presentation of Miss Wright and her competent assistant, Miss Hayes. The dean's anxiety over promising students has sent many negligent pupils home fired with ambition for imitation. Page Z1
