SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Eeek! Look at those knees! Is this really our annual of '47? There's little Speck Reeser -and Luella Riley. My how they've grown! It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Imagine us freshmen putting on the first assembly of the year. We really proved to have a lot of initiative by organizing the Freshmen Dramatic Club. But why shouldn't we have been an outstanding class when we were led by such capable officers. Remember, our presidents were Dave Peterson and Speck Reeser and our advisor, Mrs. Bollman. Here's our Sophomore annual. Listen to this write up! Which class in C. K. proved to be the most energetic during the school year of ,4-7948? Which class makes up half the honor society? Which class won the magazine drive? Yes, you guessed it, the Class of 50. We really made a name for ourselves that year. We changed the traditional haphazard initiation of the freshmen into an organized school assembly. The members of our class were also very active in Service Club, Student Council, sports, and many other activities. Dave Peterson was again our president with Mr. Gift our advisor. '48 and '49 brought another year of hard work to us as Juniors. With the Prom as our goal, we began the year with money raising projects. Some of these were the Turkey Hop, a candy sale, the Record Swing, and a decorationless dance. Besides presenting .a very successful Jr. Play, we were the only class to present its assembly. The long awaited Prom and Banquet brought our year to a favorable close. That year's presidents were Pat Salzwedel and Dave Peterson. The advisor was Mrs. Reeves. Now, as our Senior year nears an end and graduation day approaches we recall the things we've done to make this, our last year, one to remember. In the fall the Seniors put on two dances, one being the first dance of the year. Money was also raised by a Christ- mas card sale and a very entertaining Senior play. In December we presented the major event of our Senior year-the ball, Winter Wonderland, which was greatly enjoyed by a large crowd. With commencement, the ordering of announcements and cards, and all the other problems which come during the graduating year, we were fortunate to have the ready assistance of our advisor, Mrs. Anderson, and a capable president, Bill Grahlman. Years from now in looking through this, our last annual, we will probably be amused by the long skirts, the short haircuts, and all the humorous incidents which are recalled from this time. But more outstanding in our memories will be the many wonderful charac- teristics which have helped to make us what we are-the developement of leadership, initia- tive, and ambition, all of which were factors in providing an important and successful harmony in the CLASS OF '50.
