Q ,v 391' ,fl :a I 3 This has been a pleasant and eventful year for the new-comers to Central Kitsap High School. After our initiation, which we survived, the girls were further welcomed at a Big Sister Party, where each girl was given a big sister. During the magazine drive the freshmen really showed their spirit and came out on top. Some of our best salesmen were Ruel Werner, Pat Wilson, Eunice Petersen, and Pat Porterfield. In all sports, the freshmen have made a mark for themselves, and from all indications they will play an important part in the future. A few of the outstanding ones are Clarence Carter, Neil Mahan, Lloyd Berg, Neil Snitzler, Ierry Studeman, Gordon Birge, and, not forgetting those two battling brothers, the Woodard twins. In April the freshmen had their party and assembly put on as a minstrel show, both were big suc- CESSGS. We want to give a big vote of thanks to our splendid faculty and teachers, especially our freshman advisor, Mr. Geary. Their help made it a great deal easier for us beginners. 4 'X FIRST ROW left to right. Tom Ma- son Katherine Kendall, Rosemary Volten, Lois Auxrer, Audrey Lewis. Billy Hyatt SECOND ROW. At that time the team had not met any outside competition. However, with a squad made up ot ten lettermen and thirteen experienced players from last years diamond group, several ot whom played in the lunior League, the prospects of a better-than-average team seemed very likely. Among the returning lettermen were Babe Maxwell, pitcher par excellence. Among the other returning lettermen were flychasers, intielders, and a veteran catcher, Bob Hutch- ings.
