THE TOWER, 1930 Girls' Leaders Club President-SHIRLEY Bnvronn Vice president-MARGARET RICHARDS Secretary-MARJORIE HAMILTOM TTQRSUFGP-BEULAH TINGLEAF Faculty advisor-Miss HAGARIAN To train girls in leadership of their class is what the club has been working for. The girls have learned much since the beginning of the school year and have ac- cepted the responsibility with splendid results. Black and white pins with CLC ,' on a silver band were chosen by the girls. During the year, the club enjoyed a party at Miss Hagarnan's, a steakroast and a swimming party. A candy sale proved very beneficial in raising money for the TOWER picture. '-- CJHS ll-lobby Club PP8Sld9Ht-H,ILL JUNE Vice president-CARL BIALO Secretary-treasurer-JonN WEEKS Faculty advisor-MR. A. F. T1ssoL i Originally the purpose of the club was to a.llow each member to develop his own particular hobby but this did not work out very well as many did not have any. The majority voted to collect insects so several trips were made to Mount Rubidoux bridge. The first specimens of the small pygmy grasshoppers were obtained and proved quite elusive. Preserving and maintaining insects was tried in the class- rooms. At the beginning of the half year the members wanted to try to mount animals but after a few lessons decided it was too tedious a job. The last half of the year has been devoted to experiments. Each member was given a chemical set and the experiments have been taken from the text book so have supplemented their general science Work. - , -i- 1-'---CJIIS-'il'-'-1 Etiquette Club Pl'E'Slll6llt,'l.X'IARION KNOLI. This club is for those persons who find a desire for friendly and gracious relationship with those around them and wish to know the forms accepted in the best society. An informal tea was given at the home of bliss Ross on hlarch 31, at which time learning was put into application by the members of the club. Other social events have brought us together for many good times. The Etiquette Club is small having only fourteen members but another year it will probably be larger giving more students the opportunity of its membership.
