THE TOWER, 1930 Airplane Club President--MAURICE HARP Vice president-WOONHA PARK Secretary-STANLEY Moss ' Advisor-COACH XYASSAR The club has elected officers for the coming school year. They are as follows: Chester Knoll, president., Woonha Park, vice president, and Howard VVilson, secretary. ' During the year airplanes were put out of sight by Chester Knoll and Stanley llioss, each getting more than half an hour with their planes. JONES t P Much time is spent in the Folk Dancing Club when it meets every Tuesday at club period, learning the folk steps of different nations. i Two of these dances we have given in assembly and at other programs. Some activities outside the regular club meetings were carried on. ,VVe had a party each semester. Also we conducted some candy and ice cream sales to raise money for costumes and to buy records for the dances. ' The first semester officers were president, Marjorie Brooksg vice president, Delia Brooks, lVIary Bousman. . The club has an enrollment of from thirty to thirty-five enthusiastic girls. It is open to any girl from any grade who likes to learn folk da.nces. CJ H S Flag Squad The flag squad has faithfully carried on the work this year that was started by Hugh MacDonald' last year. Robert Beier, captain, has charge of it this year with first lieutenant, Burr VVhite. The buglers are James Pierce, David Paschal, and Harley Bacon. The other members of the squad are John Pope, George Parker, Gaylord Brooks, Duane Hurley, Everett VVessman, and Leo F otheringham. They have put the ,Hag up every morning at 8:33 and taken it down at 3:25. It has been the custom of the school that while this is being done everyone stops what ever they are doing and face the flag until it reaches the t.op or until it is lowered. y - ..c 39 D?
