TVIONDON This club was organized for the purpose of promoting interest in art.. The main work this year has been in making pleated lamp shades from envelopelinings and costume design booklets. Edylene Simms and Mary Hamm have done exceptionally good work. The ofiicers at t.he first of the year were president, Edith Cornelius, vice presi- dent., Dolly Smithg secretary and treasurer, Ruby Frank Jones. A. and helping out with the art exhibit. c V At the first of the year our president was Verna Christenson, our vice president, Frances hiillar and our secretary and treasurer, Ileen lilarshall. ' Help with the art. exhibit was given by Edna Bedford, and others who worked on committees are Dorothy Griffith, Maxine Dunn, Beulah hlason, Dorothy Hobbs, June Early, Dorothy Bouchey and Henrietta Seawell. ' VVe have had one social function this year that was a Hallowe'en party in the old Ellis place on North Orange Street. -----Q cms Boys' Art Club President-DAVID CORNWELL Vice president-MELVIN ELLIS Secretary-t.reasurer-FRANK CHARLTON Advisor-Miss MoNDoN YVe organized this club as a place to make art projects, or projects of any kind, posters, and to make house plans. Forrest. Fowler has devoted this year to drawing houses and rooms and has accomplished some very good work. Woonha Park has also done some outstanding work. The main productions of the year are VVild Nell, A Pet of the Plains, The Stole11 Prince, Love,s Triun1ph,,' The Singing Lesson,', and Christmas tableaus. A marionette show was sponsored in F ebruary. . ' The big annual night show of the Drama Club was given on the evening of April 11. Three plays were given. The Singing Lesson was a short romantic comedy. The cast included the old professor, Frederich lVarrinerg Lucy, his daughter, Thesba Hill, hir. Lightfoot her lover, Melvin Johnston: and Tippytoes the butler, VValter Davison. At the Stroke of Twelvei' was a thrilling mystery story. The cast included Miss Briggs, Frances VVilsong Eileen, her niece, Gertrude ,Grantg George Baker, Tudor VVallg Liza, the maid, lllary Louise Casey, and Bliss Sample, tl1e gossip, Frances Burke. The cast for The Violin hlaker of Cl'61ll0llEl,U included Taddeo Ferrari the violin maker, Frederich VVarriner: Giannina. his daughter, Theozlora VVarnerg Sandro his pupil, Phillip Allen, Fillipo the hunchback, George Plows. f------ --CJ 1.1 s----M Central Leaders Club Faculty Advisor-llllss MORGAN This organization compares to that of the boys by the same name. lllembers of both the boys and girls leaders club wear a white felt symbol having HC. L. C. in black letters on it. lliiss Helen Morgan is the sponsor. The girls in this group are elected by the different squads in lliiss Morgan's physical education classes. Their duties consist of taking the roll of their squads, being responsible for the equipment and taking charge of any activities in which the squad works as a unit. CJHS Boys' Leaders Club President-BRUCE BUTTON Secretary-EDWARD YVELLES Advisor-MR. lVERTZ The Boys' Leaders Club was organized this year to take the place of the Boys' Athletic Club. The club meets on the Held every Tuesday under the direction of hir. VVertz. ' The purpose of the club is primarily to promote constructive leadership and to aid in the organization and discipline of the physical education classes. A number from each .physical education class are i11 the club. The club has done fine work during the year.
